Love your idea. We must have been birthing together. I started a few years back getting stories and interviews from extraordinary women. There are so many out there. I do believe in the universal consciousness especially among those of us who honor our creativity.
Many of the words I used are the same as yours: Extraordinary, creative muscle, midwife. It is so true, we offer a connect for so many women who have been very busy with others and have given much less attention and focus to themselves.
I love being able to open the door to oneself and feel privileged to be a part of their future creations.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful learning experience. As I said in closing, it exceeded my expectations in many ways. I had no idea it would be such a beautiful, emotional experience. I have thought of nothing else since leaving Peter's Valley and I've laid my photos out here at home to reflect upon. Not yet ready to share my new direction with 'outsiders' by posting on my blog, I wanted to let you know how much last week meant to me. -
You are a fabulous and gifted teacher. From your warm welcome, to your thought provoking assignments and critiques I am thankful. You recognized the 'individual' in all of us and created a learning environment where we could all be ourselves. The variety and thought you put into the structure of the class made it (by far) my best workshop experience to date. I absolutely love your work and will be following what you too, will do next.
Laurie has a unique teaching style that pulls out the creative voice in each one of her students. She helped me to discover and hone in my photographic voice and strengthen my story-telling abilities through my images. The mentorship with Laurie focused on finding the visual voice that each person has, but may not know how to use. Her lessons in the technicalities of good photography creates a strong framework that lets her student’s creativity shine.

The experience with you was rare, wonderful, exciting, titillating, sensual, joyful. I loved putting myself in your artistic arms and trusting in this co-creation. Now you've really got me curious about the images that grew from my gardens.
There's a deeper level to all this, though. I guess I am a very physical person, who also loves nature and creating beauty in nature.
For over a year I have felt such a heaviness of spirit ...what am I going to do next'--kind of the over 50 version of 'what do I want to be when I grow up'. So what you really did, as a Shamanic guide would do, was unearth me and help me bloom again.
I worried that I'd look old, my neck too wrinkly, the lines in my face too severe. You stripped those fears away (as we stripped literally!).

I doubt that you may remember me, but 23 years ago, while I was in the 4th grade at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School, I took a photography class with you.
Well, this class forever sparked a passion in me. I continued to study and even took classes while I studied abroad in London in 1999. At that time I was still using 35mm and using a dark room, like we did in the 4th grade. 2 of my photos from that class were displayed in a London Gallery for 3 months.
I have started my own photography business over the past few months and I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU. If you hadn't take time to play with us 9 year olds... I would never have discovered this passion.
